Co-constructing criteria for looking after NXT mind storm kits + working in groups. Understanding the environment we work in.
Constructing the first NXT basic robot. Terminology/basic NXT programming fwd/bck/turn

First goal is to discover the relevance of robotics and giving students a range of skills. Students will be gaining the basic mechanical vocabulary and understanding of such things as axles, gears, pulleys and motors. The robotics tech class will consider all parts of research, mechanical construction, artistic creation, computer programming, problem solving and cooperating with others.

RoboCup Junior competition

Students will also have the opportunity to compete at RoboCup Junior competitions in the year (TBC). Students will gain knowledge of the robotics pieces and sensors.

Robotics Learning Centre

Students will work in a Robotics Learning Centre with a number of compulsory activities and a wide choice of other activities that students can choose according to their learning methods and interests. Students earn points for each activity and must earn at least 30 points to be considered as working at their Year Level standard.
